BEFORE
After

Caroline and Tony were expecting their first child. They needed a nest: a space designed down to the millimetre, where every corner counts. On the sixth floor of a quiet street in the 9th arrondissement, a rooftop apartment was waiting for them. Welcome to their place.

Meeting with Pere Castor

Recommended through word of mouth, Caroline and Tony entrusted Pere Castor with the complete transformation of their attic apartment. In collaboration with an architect, the challenge was set: reclaiming height from the roof structure, fully insulating to current standards, and building an entire interior from scratch where nothing is left to chance — bespoke storage, a mezzanine, a bathroom, every centimetre accounted for.

Boldness in every room

The approach is one of softness: light tones, herringbone oak flooring, white walls that catch the glow from the skylights. But what gives this interior its soul are the exposed beams left raw — a living memory of the building's past. In the kitchen, an olive-green zellige backsplash brings warmth to the space, while the bathroom plays an understated elegance with sandy tones and golden fixtures.

The iconic detail

A raw wood ladder glides along a black rail up to the mezzanine — space reclaimed from the eaves, storage designed upward. Here, everything is optimised without ever sacrificing charm. The result: a cocoon suspended above the rooftops of Paris, ready to welcome a new life.
