On the 5th floor of a beautiful Parisian building, the sky invites itself indoors to offer this young married couple their first nest, suspended far above the city’s hustle and bustle. Welcome home.

The Meeting with Père Castor

For their very first purchase, Ines and Olivier had a precise dream: to find that rare gem—a light-filled sanctuary with no overlooking neighbors, where tranquility would be the guiding principle. When they first stepped into this 5th-floor apartment, the potential was undeniable, though hidden behind a fragmented layout. Père Castor’s mission? To liberate the volumes and let energy and light flow freely.

The Art of Openness

Originally split in two, the living space was completely reimagined. By removing the partitions, we created a masterful living area where the lounge and kitchen now engage in a seamless dialogue. To reinforce the soul of the home, antique oak parquet was installed, bringing that organic warmth and subtle creak that define the charm of historic apartments. The "boho-chic" atmosphere unfolds with softness: light-toned walls, touches of pale wood, and natural textiles.

A Play of Transparency

The true feat of this project lies in its "lumière traversante"—cross-light. Through a subtle play of mirrors and clever openings, clarity travels from the living room all the way to the bathroom. The latter, a true sanctuary of well-being, showcases noble materials: veined white marble elegantly dresses the shower and the vanity top, echoing the kitchen’s countertops for a perfect visual harmony.

The Iconic Detail

The rounded alcove in the bathroom. Designed as a precious niche, it marries soft curves with the nobility of marble, transforming a functional space into a washroom worthy of a luxury hotel.
